Rajasthan Pin Hopes on Young Sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi

New Chandigarh: Rajasthan Royals will bank heavily on teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi as they prepare for a high-stakes IPL 2026 Eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad  in New Chandigarh. The winner will move one step closer to the final by securing a place in Qualifier 2.

The 15-year-old prodigy has emerged as one of the biggest talking points of this IPL season with his fearless stroke play and remarkable consistency. Vaibhav has already scored a century and three half-centuries this season, playing a major role in guiding Rajasthan Royals to a fourth-place finish in the league stage.

However, Rajasthan face a difficult challenge against a confident Hyderabad side that finished third on the points table and has defeated the Royals in their last five IPL meetings, including both encounters this season.

Much of the focus will be on the explosive opening combinations of both teams. Rajasthan’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have provided aggressive starts throughout the tournament, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will rely on the destructive duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head to dominate the powerplay overs.

Rajasthan’s batting lineup has also received solid contributions from wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who has enjoyed an impressive campaign with multiple match-winning knocks. However, inconsistency in the middle order and skipper Riyan Parag’s fluctuating form remain concerns for the franchise heading into the knockout fixture.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, appear more balanced with both bat and ball. Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen have been among the most prolific run-scorers this season, consistently delivering under pressure. Hyderabad’s bowling attack, led by Pat Cummins, Eshan Malinga and Saqib Hussain, has also impressed with its pace and variety.

The return of regular captain Pat Cummins has strengthened Hyderabad’s bowling unit significantly during the latter half of the season. Cummins recently expressed confidence ahead of the Eliminator, saying the team is familiar with the New Chandigarh pitch conditions and has developed strong momentum at the right stage of the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag acknowledged that his side still needs improvement despite recent victories. He praised Jofra Archer and Ravindra Jadeja for their experience and impact while emphasizing the importance of partnerships and better decision-making under pressure.

With two in-form teams battling for survival and a place closer to the IPL 2026 final, the Eliminator promises to be a thrilling contest featuring explosive batting, quality pace attacks and high-pressure cricket at its very best.
